Cold sores, also known as fever blisters, are a facial lesion that forms on the outer lips or around the mouth. The first symptom is an itching sensation where the cold sore is about to form. Cold sores are caused by the herpes simplex virus, as well as cold weather, sunburn, sickness, trauma and stress.
One form of treatment for cold sores is lasering the affected area. Lasering the cold sore can be done as soon as you feel the tingling sensation of the oncoming cold sore.
